I am currently in year 2 of 4 of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN program) which I am thoroughly enjoying. I am looking forward to completing my degree and entering the workforce. Before getting involved in Nursing, I went to University in Kelowna for Social Work and decided in my second year that it was not my passion. Once I figured that out, I traveled to Australia for 3 months and took my time to figure out what I truly wanted to do! Once I returned, I found myself interested in First Aid, which took my up North to be a medic which led me to Nursing.
Experience
During high school, I took part in both the Leadership and Peer Tutoring program. Since then, I have participated in various community volunteer programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and took part in SAFE (School & Family Enrichment Program). The Safe Program is a weekly program that involved underprivileged families with social and emotional needs. I have also traveled down to Mexico to help build houses for a couple of Mexican families. My mother is an Educational Assistant and she has always taught me the importance of a quality education. I would like to help provide this through one on one help. I have taken many classes and hope to help in whatever area I am needed in!
